Choirs
The school has 3 choirs for children from age 7 and up. The choirs practice once a week and take part in various performances during the year. It’s free to join but having done so, attendance is compulsory. Register by sending an email to choir leader, Tanya Hestbech (TH). Lillekor is for girls and boys in 1st– 3rd Grade and Stage 2-4 who love singing. We have various concerts in conjunction with the school events, for example Open House, the Lucia procession and the Spring Concert. Skipperkor is for girls and boys in 4th – 6th Grade and Stage 5-7. During the year we sing at several of the school’s events, including Open house, Lucia and Spring concert. We also attend concerts out of the house, e.g. in Musikkens hus and in a choir day with several choirs from other schools. Clementines** is for talented girls and boys in 7th – 10th Grade and Stage 8-11. We practice once a week in the top music room, and we sing both foreign and Danish songs. During the year we sing at several of the school’s events, including Open house and Lucia at school and in town. We also participate in the school’s May 4th event, Spring Concert and Graduation. For many of this year’s events, we are accompanied by the school’s rhythmic band. ** Voice test: There is a small audition prior to admission where you just have to sing a verse and chorus of a self-selected song, this shows that you can sing clearly. We listen to your voice scale in relation to which voice group you will be placed.
Drama
We offer drama as a free choice subject for students in Stages 8-10 along with the equivalent Danish classes. The drama is in Danish, but even those with little Danish are welcome to join.
